Travel to Greece: Inspiration

Hello, Everone!

I just recently returned from Greece, where I have stayed for 9 days.

I thought it would make sense to show some of the sources of inspiration I used from Ancient Greek artworks in my paintings.

Me in front of the Acropolis, in Athens, Greece.

Roman copy of Aphrodite (after Pheidias), which was the source of inspiration for my Aphrodite painting.

Athena, marble sculpture from the National Archeological Museum in Athens, Greece.

This isn't Athena, but the way the material is sculpted on the Roman woman, was also an important factor min my painting.

Athena Parthenos, Roman miniature copy made of marble. The original used to 20 times bigger, made of ivory and gold, and it stood at the entrance to the Parthenon, in front of the Propylaia, Acropolis.

And those are some of the sources of inspiration I used for my Athena portrait.
